My friend and I recently embarked on a trip to Peru for 17 days. Edson of Kindle Journeys organized our trip, and it was flawless! (And when I say flawless, I can't even tell you in words how smooth it all went! It just all seemed to magically work out every step of the way).
We arrived respectively from Canada and the USA into Peru where we spent a few days in Lima in top notch hotels (and through the whole trip), being driven and guided privately by a wonderful driver and guide (Rosa) to various sites and locations in the city. We learned amazing things about the culture and country and history. We then flew to Iquitos to head to Muyuna Lodge in the Amazon Jungle where we experienced nothing but incredible care and fun for 4 days with our amazing guide Roger (and other staff). This lodge is truly authentic and rustic! Then we flew to Cusco and spent a day acclimatizing and touring the Sacred Valley with our incredible driver Mario and guide Percy, being served a top-notch picnic lunch in the countryside. The whole purpose of this trip was to hike the Inca Trail, which we did next for 4 days through TrExperience which also was absolutely incredible - our guides Johnny and Torro took top notch care of our familia. Back to Cusco for a few days where Mario and Percy toured us again through different sites and taught us more about cultures and the history of the area. Back to Lima for 2 last days where we had some leisure time and last minute with Edson's help, booked a boat ride to Palomino Island
Long story short, the trip of a lifetime, and we had constant care and attention and communication to make sure we were okay, having a good time, and safe. Dare I say we 2 moms felt like royalty! We were very well fed, laundered (lol clothes were taken, cleaned/folded and returned to us mid trip), chauffeured, and pampered beyond words can say! We were each sick at least once or twice this trip, and not once did we feel judged or dismissed. The Peruvian people have huge hearts and really did seem to care for us.
HIGHLY recommend Kindle Journeys. They are incredible!
